Size: 47,000 acres
Almost 43 percent of the community´s 47,000 acres are comprised of pristine lakes and wooded conservation areas including Reedy Creek Nature Preserve, trails for horseback riding, and two new nature trails in the Snell Creek and Huckleberry Island conservation areas. In addition, The Nature Conservancy manages 10,000+ acres in the neighboring Walt Disney Wilderness Preserve. Vance Harmon Park, the largest of Poinciana's parks, is located on Cypress Parkway and features soccer fields; a football field; a softball/Little League baseball diamond, lighted tennis, basketball and racquetball courts, a children´s playground, fitness trail, and an all-weather pavilion with barbecue grills and picnic tables. CharlieWheeler Park is located near Deerwood Elementary School and features a playground and playing fields for softball and Little League and Senior League baseball.
Poinciana boasts several neighborhood schools: Deerwood and Reedy Creek Elementary schools, Horizon Middle School, Poinciana High School, and New Dimensions High School (Osceola County's first Charter School).
